The gates opened at 9 and we waited in front of the castle until 9:20. After a quick firework display we flooded fantasyland! The lines were almost nonexistant for rides, but pictures with old disney characters sometimes reached twenty to thirty minutes. Dessert, coffee, hot chocolate, and even alchohal were provided for this event. Cinderella and her coach were there for pictures and so was the old disney car. After riding dumbo, because I could not pass up an empty line, we went to the meet and greet section. We were there probably an hour when we had finished meeting those on our list. Then we finished the night with a few more rides and the last showing of the night for Captain EO!

The party looks incredible! I'm insanely jealous! What was your favorite part?
VirtualMouse - March 12, 2010 02:30 AM (GMT)
Hmm, well it had to be meeting Tony Baxter but I also loved seeing the 3 little pigs!

I thought the evil witch from Snow White looked awesome.

Looks like a great time! That's awesome that you got to meet all those Imagineers and classic characters! I'm jealous of your Evil Queen pic lol!
And that Cinderella carriage is amazing! Did they have any other info about what that was originally created for? Or did they make it especially for this event?
VirtualMouse - March 12, 2010 04:23 AM (GMT)
That is the backside of the carriage, the line to take the actual picture was from small world to almost matterhorn! I did not see an info stand for it though. Yes we saw the evil queen and she had such a short line we couldn't resist!

Oh, so the carriage was a photo op? Very cool! I doubt they made that especially for the event, so I wonder what that's from?
In any case, great trip report and pictures! Thanks for posting this!

Awesome report! The desserts were all you can eat right? How good were they?
I met Tony Baxter at the D23 Expo but he was leaving the room and a bit hounded by other people when I saw him!
How long did the event last? Did everyone leave exactly at 12 or could people hang around? Also was the whole park open to you guys even though the attractions were only open in FL/Captain EO, or was it roped off?
Here's another report I've seen from a guy over at Micechat:

Yes all you can eat! They were good, had the d23 cupcake and part of a cookie! We were there probably till 12:30 inside the park, so they didn't kick us out right at midnight. Good question about the whole park being open! I believe just FL MS and Captain EO were open for us. I saw a couple benches here and there blocking the paths.
Doug I remember what I have seen the carriage used for! One day while walking around the disneyland hotel I saw it lined up getting ready to be used for a wedding! I think the bride rides to the wedding in it.
Jessiestudio - March 13, 2010 09:57 PM (GMT)
Yup! The Disney Weddings has a "Pumpkin" for both DLR and WDW i believe. I remember them showing it off at the expo, where you actually allowed to sit in it though?
VirtualMouse - March 14, 2010 12:55 AM (GMT)
No! I would of waited in line for that though!!!!!!
Jessiestudio - March 14, 2010 04:47 AM (GMT)
Bummer, they didnt let us sit in either :(
