Title: Possible Arcade Format Change..
Description: test it woot..
Ranch - May 15, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
As you all have been watching through recent times here, I've been messing with our arcade nonstop, somedays till odd hours in the morning. And now, with 30% of the games now useless, and a help staff that averages at about 14 years old in age, it's clear that I've had it with thunder arcade!
The latest drama happened at the TA forums. While multi-tasking through their forums (unzipping files, saving them, hosting them), a child staff there decided to put up a shoutbox that renders the site next to useless with it's refreshing and guest abuse. I expressed that it's messing up the ability to use the site, only to be told, "Too bad".
As you can imagine, I then REALLY voiced my opinion, and scored a 3 day ban from a punk kid who is not only ruining the usable ability of the site, but abuses the power he's given, how and why he has it I don't care. I just want to escape the disaster as fast as possible.
The new Arcade is much more advanced, offering it's own shoutbox system, TOURNAMENTS, and a much more professional Admin system! The only downfall is that it starts with 7 games, thus, prompting me to add games all over again. The process is much easier than TA's though, and I wont have to depend on punk kids and staff to update their outdated work, work that they simply do not respond to.
Any updates on the format change will be posted here, stay tuned!

You spend entirely too much time on us Ranch, always improving on our site. We need to give you some :grouphug: .
Change for the better is good buddy. Let us know if we can help. Tried the test link. Just saw a new invision site but no arcade. Technologically challanged sometimes here.

Thanks Pink.. that's very sweet of you!
And I could use all the help I can get lol! It's just the work is complicated and with a brand new advanced arcade, even I myself will be starting at square-one.
After clicking the above link, Login as "Test" and with the password ""test", once on the test board you can click the Mario Icon in the navbar and test the new format.. though again.. only 7 games.
The arcade is in it's generic state, before personal skinning.

First off I agree with Pink, you do so much for us.
But also, Sorry I am a bit confused. DOes the whole board move again to use that arcade?
Ranch - May 15, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
No.
Instead of upping and deleting thunder arcade like I so badly want to do, I tested the replacement before making any final decisions.
Right now I'm pm'n back forth with Jcink (of Jcink.com) on his boards. I'm not even a user yet, and this dude has gone out of his way to not only help me get started with this prospect, but is also helping my courage to tackle this huge transition!

Oh good! I kind of get it. Will just have to wait and see.

i like that arcade :D.. except some of the high scores dont work right, but i'm sure you'll fix that if you decide to transfer the arcade types

Ok I'm a doofus! Of course it's the Mario! So I logged in as test and test but then it won't let me play the games, saying I need to log in when I'm already logged in? Don't waste your time on my little problem for now though. Do what you gotta do. I'm fine with our arcade right now. Get some sleep tonight!

I believe this new arcade will have it's own registering system.. which is awesome. I'm hoping we can edit in the Pop-up feature that Doug and I worked so hard to get working.
If we can get this shift to work with no flaws, the only drawbacks will be losing the pop-ups, and all current scores. And since I'm not in 1st anymore.. I'm down with that!
jk jk..
I probably will not be in VMK for the next few days until all this is straightened out. Pardon mah dust!
Pinkcat - May 16, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)
Yeah I must be a dork I cannot get this figured out. Says I am logged in but then says to play the games you must log in. So I hit log in and try my name and password, takes it and says Logged in, but click on games and they don't show up. Try to register new titles it says taken.
Confused here. Maybe Daisy can help me out. Don't want to bug Ranch because he is a very busy dude these days.

I just clicked arcade and started playing games. It was simple for me..
Pinkcat - May 16, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
Took me to actually READ the instructions at the top. DUH! And see I had to turn down my security setting. Man, now you know why I play a blonde on Pink.Cat in VMK.

I didn't have to mess with mine.. strange..

Oh, maybe that's why I can't get in. I just thought I had the wrong info. I'll check it out. Thanks for that pink.

Ok the new Arcade has been
mostly restored woot! 222 games have been transfered with the exception of "low-score-wins" games, and the following that suffered the photojerk crash:
cubshoot/scrat jump/Eskiv2/Trogdor/Short Circuit/Cursor Man/Curve Ball/
Rick Dangerous/Q*Bert/Tanks/Paintball Shooter/Black Ops: Korean Conflict/3 Wheel Slot/McVideo Game/Jungle Eggventure/Crazy Frog Racer/
Cub Shoot 2/Bombjack/Yeti: albatros/Rage 2/Flash Circle TD/Yeti: free ride/Dare Devil
In time, the above games will be restored.
I'll start a new arcade tutortorial (sp?) thread later tonight explaining tournaments and new features!
Please report any game bugs or errors on the
Pinned Thread in this forum as they are most likely a typing error on my part.
