Title: Best Place to Watch Wishes

Jennings - January 26, 2010 08:22 PM (GMT)
One thing that's always a problem on a trip to WDW is "Where should we watch Wishes?". Usually, I watch it in one of 4 places: The Tomorrowland Terrace, on the winding path right in front of The Plaza Restaurant, around the Train Station, or right on Main Street. The one I most prefer is the Train Station since it's right at the gates and has the best "escape route". Coming in on a close second is the winding path.

Where do you guys like to watch Wishes?

I always like to try to get a spot where I can see the Castle perfectly, but that rarely works out. I've always wanted to watch from the train station but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm not a fan of watching from the Tomorrowland Terrace because the roof makes it difficult to see the higher fireworks.

I have not really watched Wishes from too many places. We always like to stand right in the middle of Main Street about even with Casey's or maybe a bit closer to the castle then Casey's.
I have often heard people who say it is nice from behind the castle but in my opinion I would rather the castle be front and center and then the fireworks are centered above it.

My spot is right near the Partner's statue. The castle is front and center - which is how the show was designed to be seen.

I usually try to stand back a bit from the statue - I use the trolley tracks as my positioning guide. Right at the center of the street at the start of the hub is a spot where the tracks intersect - this is my spot!!!

I does get very crowded there, but I am usually by myself when I watch, so it is no big issue sneaking in right before showtime.

I have seen Wishes from several spots in the park - this "hub spot" is my preference!

I've seen them from behind the castle once, they generally take place over Ariel's Grotto, with the best seats being on benches behind Dumbo. You get most of the fireworks with very little crowds (the only fireworks you really miss are a few small ones shot next to the castle), but I'd agree it just isn't the same. You're aware you're watching a Disney quality firework display, but it doesn't feel like Disney without the castle in view.

I've often wondered how the fireworks look from the Frontierland docks, where the castle is at a slightly rotated angle. It would definitely be an easy place to watch them since it's a large area and very few people watch it from there. Also a good spot if you want to wait out the crowds: Watch the fireworks, and go on Big Thunder Mountain or Splash.

That sounds interesting, but wouldn't the buildings mostly block your view of the castle(except for the tallest tiers)? It might make for some interesting photo ops, but I think that would be the only reason I would try it. Maybe I'm just too picky about being able to see the castle clearly during the fireworks :P

as a desperate attempt to see the fireworks I have sat on the beach at the Polly... I do like it there (although not idea) The music is pipped in and it is a beautiful sight... You also get the added water pageant..
