Title: Give a Day, Get a Day Participating Locations
SKKaty - January 3, 2010 04:19 AM (GMT)
This really applies to both WDW and DLR.
The Give a Day, Get a Day Promotion now has participating locations available on their website.
http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneypar...et-A-Disney-DayThere are quite a few in my area. I am planning on checking it out, although when we go to WDW we always buy a 7 day park hopper. If I happen to get the free ticket I am not sure it would really do me much good. Going down to a 6 day hopper is only the difference of a few dollars if I am not mistaken. I will have to look into this though.

Maybe they will have the same policy they had with the birthday tickets, where if you already had park tickets you could get a gift card or something else like that.
Or you could stay an extra day! (but that's what the Suits want you to do!)

Just read this on their website:

Was already able to sign up for an event in our town (there were not too many choices though) so I am good to go. I was surprised that our local Habitat for Humanity was not listed for our area. I volunteer for that every summer.

Should be fun!!! We are trying to plan a trip to WDW for March, and since we both have annual passes, we will most likely choose the Pin set option...
I will do my best to take photos and post a small report after my event!!!

I wonder if there is room for the girls and I to do that as well?
Friend - January 6, 2010 08:12 PM (GMT)
They needed over 1,000 volunteers - so I imagine you should be able to register!! Do it!!!!
I chose the Upper West side location. It takes place at Martin Luther King Jr. High School on Amsterdam Ave, from 10 - 2

So I went looking to see what types of volunteering oppportunities they had in my area for this and I was very suprised to see how many different types there were. I live in a really small town and there wasn't any but the next town over had 2 and then the towns within 20 minutes had almost 2 pages each. Plus I was pleased to see how kid friendly some of them are.
Not sure if we will get to WDW to use this but I'm still planned on having my kids volunteer just to get the idea of what it's like to help others.

I also found these bad boys on Ebay - they were originally given out at the D23 Expo to attendees who volunteared time to make a blanket or donated to a food drive.

Hoping when Harrison and I wear these to the park - we will stick out and be chosen to be Grand Marshalls!!! (a girl can dream...)
Doug - February 7, 2010 04:32 AM (GMT)
I love that pin set! That's probably what I'll get when i use my free day in October since its so cheap to just add another day on to the MYW ticket.
Love those voluntEARS ears too! They're awesome!
Friend - February 7, 2010 06:45 PM (GMT)
Doug - in all the descriptions I have seen regarding the pin set - it specifies Annual Passholders... You may want to check before you spend to add a day.

Ya i dont think these are being given out other then at expo and the tour events. I have a pair for myself and a pair for my dad. They are pretty funny to wear around the park, and earning them was so easy. All we had to do was either plant a flower in a dixie cup or make a blanket. If i go to expo again this year and they are still giving them out at the corporate responsibility pavillion i will make sure to plant an extra flower and get you one :)
Friend - February 7, 2010 07:49 PM (GMT)
Thanks Jessie!! - but I found them super cheap on Ebay and bought 2 pair for myself and Harrison!! They were like $5 bucks each!! The seller still has them up if anyone is interested!!
Cruiselinefan - February 8, 2010 01:24 PM (GMT)
PINKCAT!!!! Even though we are signed up for a volunteer event, a new one popped up in our area.....PROVIDING A FEW HOURS OF COMPANIONSHIP/PLAY TO CATS/KITTENS AT A LOCAL NO-KILL SHELTER!!!
Of course we signed up and I thought of you.
