Apparently, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, aka the People Mover, has opened back up despite Space Mountain still undergoing it's facelift. This article says all the new changes that have occurred thus far:

To our surprise, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (TTA) at the Magic Kingdom opened today with completely new audio playing on the speakers above the ride track and guests heads. Highlights include:
-A new male voice welcomes you aboard the “highway in the sky” (I thought that was the monorail), points out various sights, and helps describe attractions in Tomorrowland. He also refers to the ride as the “Peoplemover” at one point.
-Stitch, Mickey, Buzz Lightyear, and Roz from Monsters Inc. also interrupt as guests pass their corresponding establishments.
-A female voice comes over the speakers when the TTA vehicles enter Space Mountain. She actually mentions that the ride is currently not in service, she may be replaced with the normal narrator when Space Mountain returns in November.
-Gone are famous lines such as “Mickey’s Star Traders will be glad to rocket-ship your package”, “Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow”, and ALL of the previous audio.

Personally, while I like that they updated it, the fact that I'll never get to hear "Now Approaching: Mickey's Star Traders" again really saddens me. This could potentially be very unpopular among the Disney Community since this time around they hardly kept anything from the original, unlike POTC and Haunted Mansion where they only made minor enhancements.

I'm surprised the new audio was added so late after it's re-opening on September 12th.
I rode it on the 13th and everything still was the same, also Space Mountain with the lights on!

I guess I will have to hear this for myself before saying I am upset.

i certainly hope that the disney fans aren't too upset because if we keep doing this to the imagineers they're gona run out of room for new things trying to avoid the classics we dont want touhed :duh: :duh: :duh:

Anyways the new audio still sounds pretty funny although it does lack that jungle cruise humor the old audio appears to have had.

Overall, it's just ok...I'm not crazy about the new narraration, but I'm sure it will grow on me. I do happen to like the music played during the "Perfect Community" model....I like this even more:
