Title: John Lasseter and Walt Disney

Coolimagineer - May 28, 2009 12:15 AM (GMT)
Recently, I was rewatching a documentry on Pixar called "The Pixar Story". I happen to LOVE this special and can watch it over and over again. However, while I was watching this, I noticed a quote said about Lasseter. Joe Grant, whom was a very close story animator with Walt, (Some of his work includes Fantasia, Dumbo, Pinocchio, basically he was considered a Disney Legend) spoke about Lasseter calling him "An Image of Walt". Now, I know this statement is either a hit or a miss with people. Many people will agree and say Lasseter is just as remarkable as Walt, while other's may say there will never be anybody like Walt. In my opinion, I would say yes John is following in the footsteps of Walt...let's just analyze the situation.

Walt Disney Grows Up Cartooning - John Lasseter Doodles Regularly In His Childhood
Walt Disney Was Fired By Pat Powers (Lost Oswald) - John Lasseter Was Mysteriously Fired By Disney (Lost Brave Little Toaster)
Walt Disney Starts The Studio With Investor Roy Disney - John Lasseter (along with Ed Catmull) Starts The Studio With Investor Steve Jobs
Walt Disney Revolutionizes Animation By Making First Feature Film - John Lasseter Revolutionizes Animation By Making First 3-D Feature Film

The list can go on and on, some even consider John's job in the Disney Parks right now to be similair to Walt's.

So...you be the judge...Is John Lasseter an "Image of Walt"?
