Title: New Characters on "it's a small world"

SKKaty - March 27, 2008 06:42 PM (GMT)
I find this to be interesting. Whereas I would most likely enjoy a change like this, I can see how people get angry over losing the originality of the ride. I traded pins with a castmember a while back and I received a pin that is of Princess Aurora and she is made to look like a small world doll. She looks like a child and is very cute. I am assuming this series of pins had something to do with the idea of bringing the characters to the ride.
I love that they will be in the style of Mary Blair. I wonder if this change will also be happening in WDW after a time.

Disneyland adding new characters to 'small world'
Mar 26, 2008

Disneyland's ongoing rehab of the 'it's a small world' attraction will include the addition of Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit in the ride's England section.

Disney Imagineers have confirmed that they will be adding select Disney characters based on ride designer Mary Blair's original concept for the attraction. In response to protests to the rumored changes, officials stated that Mickey and Minnie Mouse will not be among the new additions.

The updates have been eight years in the making and will respect and honor the original creative intent of the attraction and will include new richness, excitement and relevance.

^^

Actually, I was saying that about the HKDL version. The HKDL version will have multiple Disney characters featured in the ride. It talks about this version of the ride about 1:45 into this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZHZDcgCao8

I don't like the idea of this. I am a little relieved to find out that they'll be in the IASW style, but still. I don't like it very much. I've read a rumor on other fansites about the jungle scene being taken out, and in it's place, an "Up With America" scene. I absolutely DESPISE the idea of this. I love the jungle scene! It's my favorite! If they took out the jungle, that would mean that the hippo would be GONE! Waaaaaahhhh.......

Sorry about that rant. I'll try to be positive.

I do think that the disney characters look cute as IASW dolls, especially Lilo.

That's all the positive that I can think of right now.

I'm sorry I'm being very negative. I'll shut up now.

I will barf if Stitch is in it.

But the other characters I enjoy. Especially Alice in Wonderland.

I'm sick of Stitch. He seems to be everywhere nowadays. The movie wasn't even that good.
