I'm Sorry Friend  I know what it is like to have to take the dog to the Vet to be put down. Five years ago we had to put our dog Joey (11 year old boxer ) down.
Our prayer's go out for Bingy. :grouphug:

:( I'm sorry for your loss Friend. You know this is still fresh for me too, so I know how your family is feeling. He sounds like a great dog that will be missed. Do you have a photo to post of him? What kind of dog was he? Was he very ill in the end? Time makes it feel a little better, but they are never forgotten and longed for. It totally sucks that pets cannot live as long as humans. Hugs for your family from your MM family. :grouphug:

Thanks gang!!
I'm OK - as selfish as it may sound, I am just glad that my sister was not able to reach me this afternoon - or she would have asked me to go with her to the vet - and that would not have been pretty!!
He was a great dog - he was a Yellow Lab mix - not really sure what the other part was but he was a beauty - I will try to find a picture of him to post. Such a good dog!!
He really hung on there in the end... He has been shaky on his hind legs for quite a while now, and I told my sister quite some time ago that it might be better to say goodbye and let him go, poor thing - but she has three kids who were very attached to Bingo and they fought her on it - so she held out as long as she could.
I am thankful that I was able to see him yesterday - these past few weeks everytime I saw him, I would give him hugs and kisses not knowing when would be the last time - He will be missed!!!

Awww he was well loved, and he knew it. I'm glad you had your time to say goodbye. Labs are just gorgeous dogs in looks and personality, perfect family dog, my SIL has one.
The whole vet situation is still a nightmare for me, and I miss my mutt. The images, the last day, and guilt of putting him down is still awful. You were better off not going if you have a soft animal heart like me. I truly feel for your sister Friend.

I send prayers and pixie dust your way as well. A couple of years ago, my sister's dog had to be put down and it was a sad time. :(

I am sitting here thinking about when I have to say goodbye to my wife's little guys (ok mine too, but a real man doesn't buy himself toy poodles). I have lost pets before but the special ones certainly leave their mark on you.
I'm very sorry for you and your family's loss. :hugs: :pixiedust:
